O consumismo infantil acarreta vários problemas na infância (ansiedade, stress familiar, necessidades criadas e desejos reprimidos, obesidade, erotização precoce, etc). Considerando que a formação de conhecimentos sociais tem seu início na infância, a escola de educação infantil tem papel fundamental para a promoção da reflexão acerca do consumismo que afeta negativamente as crianças.
