Dieses Buch untersucht erstmals die Rolle der Bibel in der christlich-iberischen Geschichtsschreibung vom 8. bis zum 12. Jahrhundert vor dem Hintergrund der Arabischen/Berberischen Fremdherrschaft über weite Teile der mittelalterlichen Iberischen Halbinsel. Die Darstellung der eigenen Geschichte der christlichen Chronisten im zu untersuchenden Zeitraum weist eine hohe Zahl an biblischen Motiven auf.
