Sie betten ihre Studien zur Muße in verschiedenen Kulturkreisen und Epochen in die Betrachtung des historischen und kulturellen Umfelds ein und fördern so das Beziehungsgeflecht zwischen Mußediskursen, Verunglimpfungen des Müßiggangs und der Verhandlung von sozialem Stand und ökonomischem Status zutage.
