Shrnutí:Founded in 1921, Hockey Club Davos (HCD) is the last high level Swiss ice hockey club located in the Swiss alps. When ice hockey was invented in Switzerland by tourists and international students back in the early 20th century, all significant clubs were based in the mountains. HCD managed to stay a premium club owing to a symbiotic relationship with the Spengler Cup, a highly reputed international tournament, taking place every year between boxing day and new year’s eve since 1923. Thanks to the support of the local tourist industry and the local government, HCD evolved into a professional ice hockey team.
