These include the estimation of population size, the determination of population growth rates, estimation of the parameters of temperature-dependent ontogenetic models, demographic analysis, modelling of functional and numerical predator response, dispersal of individuals in space, and the simulation of interspecies interactions such as cooperation or predation.The exercises were selected to represent real practical situations, such as the conservation of rare species, pest control, sustainable harvest and epidemiology. The textbook shows students how to use modern empirical methods in the management of animals. |
