Shrnutí:Ethical dilemmas in contemporary ethnology I. In four separate chapters, the publication addresses various ethical questions and dilemmas that the authors encountered during the preparation and implementation of their field research while pursuing their doctoral studies at the Institute of Ethnology and Social Anthropology Slovak Acedemy of Sciences. The publication represents a pioneering effort in Slovakia to initiate an open discussion about the possibilities and limitations of ethical research in contemporary ethnology and anthropology. The aim of the publication was to present several reflections by the authors on the challenges researchers face not only in the conception and ethical design of their research projects but also in conducting the field research and subsequently storing and publishing the collected data. The issues presented are, in many cases, innovative in Slovak ethnography, focusing on vulnerable groups with the potential for collecting sensitive data.
