| Summary: | This book comprises a collection of contributions on press and education historiography in Argentina, Brazil and Uruguay from the early nineteenth century to the late twentieth century. It is structured into five sections, each organized around different types of publications aimed at promoting education as a fundamental axis of the social project of modernization in Latin America. Seeking to analyze educational press with different theoretical and methodological tools, the issues addressed encompass mass press, academic and professional press, press within the educational system and its institutions, teachers’ press and students’ press. These collected works revolve around the diverse contributions of this journalistic genre, mapping out the nuances and tensions present in the educational field through the lens of its publications, identifying a broad spectrum of voices, networks and educational projects that emerged across different socio-historical contexts.
