Sumari:This book studies the relationship between justice and society in Mexico from the Bourbon reforms to the present day, starting from the idea of a gradual deterioration that seems to have accelerated during the 19th and 20th centuries. It looks at the different players in the judicial system, sub-judicial methods of conflict resolution, and the vision of plaintiffs and criminals, both in the major urban centers and in rural areas (Chiapas, Yucatan, Zacatecas, Spanish Louisiana...).
