Sumari:In light of the principles of the old Romantic Library, which (according to the note placed on the back cover of the volumes), ‘endeavours to reach the many-voiced world of the era, wherein lies one of the spiritual homelands of modern man’, it should be noted that in the book by Wojciech Tomasik, The Romantics and Technology, this is achieved cunningly and bluntly. The modern day is reflected in Romanticism here, in the sphere which our era audaciously (or perhaps simply mindlessly) tries to claim, forgetting about the Romantic roots of the phenomenon of not just technological progress, but most importantly its influence on all other areas of life: from mechanical work and everyday conveniences, to morality and religion.
