| Zusammenfassung: | This book may be read as a monograph on the thought of Giorgio Agamben, one of the most important philosophers of the recent years. It would then present a certain point of view on his entire body of work, its various contexts, inspirations and impact. It could also be read as a work dedicated to a certain category in his reflection, at once central and still under-developed. The notion of potentiality would then be a distinct key to the interpretation of Agamben’s thought, because it would explain not only its overt sides, but also its concealed drive, a force which gnaws at it from within, and yet it does not always find an appropriate expression for itself. Finally, The Idea of Potentiality can be read as an attempt at co-thinking with the Italian philosopher, in which the precision of commentary is linked with the risk of autonomous thought and strong interpretation. Both these planes are connected into a cohesive whole by the wish to face the potentiality of thinking itself, and by what it means for philosophy. |
