description Five fundamental notions are the starting point of this work: modernism, affect, literature, theory of interpretation and relationness. The topic of analyses is Polish modernism, which could be understood as a cultural-artistic formation dating to several decades of the twentieth century, approximately between 1920s and 1960s. The author concentrates on the wider aesthetic, theoretical, philosophical and mental context of this era, but her main reference is literary modernism. The author is aware that she is presenting merely a fragment of the Polish literary map, and the affective modernism, which she explores, was (or, rather, is) affective only from the perspective of a specific readership. This, however, is the point: this project is also an opening, a proposition and a starting point.
