Dabei übernimmt Verbraucherpolitik immer wieder Aufgabenstellungen, die im Grunde sozialpolitische Funktionen wahrnehmen, vor allem in Krisenzeiten wie heute. Damit schließt Verbraucherpolitik dem Anschein aber zum größten Politikfeld auf, der Sozialpolitik. Der Tagungsband geht der Frage auf den Grund, inwieweit Verbraucherpolitik solche sozialpolitischen Funktionen erfüllt, was das für die strategische Stellung der Verbraucherpolitik bedeuten könnte, und ob es ggf. noch weitere vergleichbare Vermischungen zwischen Verbraucherpolitik und anderen Politikfeldern in Deutschland gibt.
