| Резюме: | At the release of Tauhid in 1967, Pharoah Sanders was best known for his playing in John Coltrane's later line-ups. This surprising record, which sometimes takes a opposite approach to what Pharoah Sanders was used to play, Tauhid locates on the territories of free jazz but also what would later be called "ethno-jazz". Its varied instrumentarium (including balafon and free electric guitar), its use of the suite-form, which sometimes prefigures so-called progressive music, contribute to make Tauhid a surprising and unique record in the career of Pharoah Sanders but also the cornerstone of his work to come. |
