Description
Résumé:The author addresses the theme of the integration of foreigners starting from marriage as a mediation tool (so far not investigated in this way) and comparing two cities that experienced intense immigration phenomena, Venice and Rome. The analysis focuses on endogamous and exogamous marriage to understand the methods that allowed the immigrant to become part of consolidated professional and social networks. The attention to cohabitations and more uxorio ties, recognized by the church as presumptions of marriage, as well as plural marriages of immigrants, appears original.
