Περίληψη:The relationship between the performing arts and intimacy is expressed in multiple and contradictory ways, creating heuristic possibilities with profound socio-political implications. Opening up an individual's intimate sphere to other intimate spheres is an act of interpersonal sharing that allows the experience of another human being to be privileged in what is most profound and singular. However, a fair analysis will lead us to recognise that, in certain circumstances, this space of intimacy can (and perhaps should) also legitimately remain closed to others. It is in this context that, through their creators, theatre and the performing arts have developed interesting ways of dealing with issues of the intimate sphere in the contemporary world. Since performance work invariably leads to the investigation of the bodily, emotional, mental and relational processes of the human condition, this edition aims, through an interdisciplinary and intercultural approach, to contribute to mapping the concept of intimacy in its relationship with the performing arts in a plural, political and affective way.
