Description
Summary:The author integrates the analysis of monarchical frameworks by also noting for the development of rural communities a weak use of the concept of freedom as well as a parallel aspiration to political emancipation: the analysis of the kingdom of England, the Crown of Castile and the most backward and servile rural area of Catalonia (the Remensa), highlights a common tendency, beyond the different more or less advanced degree of formalization of the communities, towards their inclusion in the royal political order to establish their autonomy towards the powers elegant; the recognition of communities as political subjects was also accompanied by the strengthening of the role of rural elites in the use of common goods, in the regulation of the workforce and, ultimately, in the capacity for political decision-making.
