In the article, my purpose is to reconstruct the genesis of this idea and to show its strengths and weaknesses, trying to understand it into the contemporary debate on the linguistic turn of economics. Beyond criticisms, Rossi-Landi has the main merit of highlighting the decisive role of the language-work pair in the description of human nature, which is distinguished from that of other animals precisely for the production of words and tools. |
