Dabei wird einen soziokulturellen Ansatz gewählt, um die Auswirkungen von zeitgenössischen Werten, Praktiken und Verhaltensweisen auf die Qualität und Effektivität der militärischen Gesundheitsversorgung zu untersuchen. Es blickt über das Schlachtfeld hinaus und betrachtet die Folgen des Krieges für die Gesellschaft, wobei weibliche und männliche Perspektiven dargestellt werden.
