Yhteenveto:Glaucoma is a progressive, multifactorial optic neurodegenerative disease that affects over 80 million patients worldwide. The disease’s insidious onset, combined with our reliance on subjective diagnostic tools, hinders early detection and timely intervention. Current treatments, while beneficial, often fail to provide consistent intraocular pressure control, and management is further complicated by variability in disease progression, non-adherence to therapy, socioeconomic challenges, complications from surgical interventions, and new risk factors. This reprint contains 15 excellent chapters that focus on the remarkable developments in the field of glaucoma diagnosis and treatment, including the use of artificial intelligence, novel wearable devices, advancements in filtration and cataract surgeries, wound healing, and ocular surface disease management.
