| Whakarāpopototanga: | The aim is to provide a description of the current state of road accidents, also reflecting on the evolution of the case histories compared to the past. The paper first provides an overview of the situation at the global and European levels, going through what were and are the common goals of reducing deaths and injuries due to road accidents. After a description of the data at the national level, we move on to a more in-depth analysis of the case history in the Region of Sardinia: in particular, data are described at the provincial level and for large urban centers, highlighting the roads that present a higher level of accidentality and location of black spots, i.e., those road sections where a high concentration of accidents is observed. To make reference quick and intuitive, this document is written in summary form and prefers the use of infographics. The most up-to-date data refer to the year 2023 (the most recent available at the time of publication). |
