The focus is on the narratability and sayability of abortions as well as their publishability. The authors therefore read the texts against their historical-patriarchal contexts, trace configurations of female authorship and developments in the history of publication and editions. They examine the interweaving of medical and legal discourses and work out decision-making ethics. This volume thus helps to fill the gap in literary studies on (literary) abortions. |
