Zusammenfassung:What contacts have occurred between Arabs and Sardinia over the centuries? What traces did the Arabs who came to the island leave behind? Who were they, where did they come from, and what interests did the Arabs who came into contact with the island over time have? How did the Arabs see, think, describe and imagine the island in the Middle Ages as much as in the modern age? If relations between Sardinia and the Arab world in the medieval age should often be understood in the context of Islamic expansion and are linked to figures such as those of conquerors, geographers and adventurous travelers, in the modern age Arab politicians, diplomats and intellectuals come into contact with the island for different purposes, of a personal nature or international politics. With this volume, aimed at an audience that is not necessarily specialized, those who intend to approach the study of the relations between Sardinia and the Arab world have at their disposal a general, clear and immediate introduction of the main historical, linguistic and literary issues, which will enable them to get an idea of the existing literature, the fundamental themes, the ascertained issues and the still unresolved problems.
