description The creative industries sector can unquestionably be classified as one of the most promising sectors of the world economy. There are many different types of activity in the area of its interests characterised by innovativeness and high potential for creative work. It produces not only innovative products or services but also creates ideas that are used by traditional business. Undoubtedly, the creative industries sector is the forerunner which shows the way of development to other, less dynamically developing branches of the economy. It is characterised by the creative use of knowledge, the ability and willingness to adapt unusual solutions, the application of new technologies, the creation of new business models, as well as openness to change and propensity for partner cooperation. The growing importance and leading role of the creative industries sector are manifested not only in its economic value but also in its wider impact on society and culture. It is worth noting that the creative industries sector increasingly often provides new models of business behaviour and activities that other sectors of the economy should imitate, especially when they wish to continue to exist on the market, develop dynamically and achieve success. And dynamically developing information and communication technologies (ICT) have created unprecedented conditions for the use of tools such as computers, mobile devices and the Internet network by entrepreneurs from the creative industries sector. The presented monograph analyses the impact of the use of information and communication technologies (ICT) on the competitiveness and development of SMEs in the creative industries sector and shows the relationship between the characteristics of the owners as well as the characteristics of the enterprise and the use of these tools.
