| الملخص: | This workbook highlights the discrepancy between letters and sounds in English and the various ways a sound can be spelled. It provides word-level transcription activities focused on individual sounds (or phonemes), with occasional informational boxes on specific sounds, silent letters or selected morphophonemic rules. Each sound is illustrated with common and rare spellings, exceptions and example words that tend to pose pronunciation challenges for learners. Exercises include finding the odd-one-out, choosing correct transcriptions, identifying homophones, gap-filling, and whole-word transcriptions. The workbook is recommended for more advanced English learners as an additional resource to enhance sound awareness, introduce IPA transcription, and practice pronunciation, along with other, more theoretical textbooks. |
