| description | The article presents the outcomes of a questionnaire research among students on the occasion of the climate summit COP26 in Glasgow in November 2021. The survey concerned the awareness of the event and sources mentioned in this context as well as the general relevance of the issue of climate change from the perspective of young persons and the question, who in their opinion should change something to limit climate change. The aim of the survey research was (beyond information gathering) to analyse, in what way we are able to refer to such a complex question as climate change and how the character of media sources currently used by young persons interacts with the process of generating awareness of this existential issue. Due to the research method and mostly open-ended questions the analysed data material allows to observe in which way the character of the communication process and its current condition shape the possibility of referring to the issue of climate change on the level of social communication. This allows to draw conclusions concerning the interaction between the sphere of social communication and (the possible contribution of) communication design for introducing change into the social context. |
