Summary:Spanish society has experienced important structural changes in recent decades (demographic aging, job precariousness, welfare state deficits, increasing immigration, erosion of the classical family model, etc.) that have made new situations of vulnerability and social exclusion to emerge, tothose that the Region of Murcia is no stranger. In this context, social exclusion adopts multiple forms, of different intensity, in which social disadvantages accumulate from different vital areas (income, work, education, housing, health, socio -family relations or participation). Thus, social exclusion is considered, in social investigations, as a multicausal and multidimensional process.
