The book arose, as a demand for professionals in their work with the elderly to face certain situations such as the way of acting before, for example, behavioral problems in cognitive deterioration. The research that we have carried out with the professionals of the elderly as well as the meetings with professional associations, such as the College of Psychologists of Murcia, allowed us to configure different topics of interest to configure the chapters of the book. The chapters addressed have been the following: Psychological development in those over 45 by addressing the characteristics of employment and unemployment, neurological and psychiatric diseases in older people, ethical and legal aspects of previous instructions, current state of the Dependency Law, Regional regulations for older people, gerontological coaching, patterns of action in the face of cognitive impairment, the work of creativity, the importance of nutrition, volunteering, the grieving process and stress in the professional caregiver. Finally, professional profiles in the care of the elderly through the commitment to specialized training, the configuration of multidimensional teams of experts and the development of good professional practices. |
