Opis
Izvleček:This book makes a synthesis of the terminology and concepts most used in the study of some of the processes involved in the most dynamic environment of the earth's surface: the coastal environment. The classification of the coasts according to their morphology, the space-time scales from which it is possible to address the study of the coasts is addressed in a simple way. The elements of the beaches that allow to zoning the coast are identified and an introduction is made to the concepts of coastal and dynamic cells, which influence the sediments and the modal states of the beaches. The sedimentary food sources and the systems involved are also spoken is their distribution. Likewise, one of the main problems of the beaches worldwide is analyzed: coastal erosion, in which agents intervene in different scales. In addition to the natural changes suffered by the coast, the coasts are affected by anthropic activities, which are described and analyzed, together with the erosive effects caused by the different types of concrete actions and, finally, reference is made to the management ofterritory through the integrated management of coastal areas, which are the main theme of the seventh section.
