| Summary: | This work presents a synthesis of the results of the research and agreements projects, which the Autonomous University of Tamaulipas has been carried out since 1997 in the Northern Tamaulipas (Mexico) region, to deal with the problem of water and soilwhich occurs in this part of the state of Tamaulipas. The objectives of the work were the diagnosis of the main problems that affect the soils of the region and the implementation of technical actions for the protection, recovery and conservation of agricultural soils. Likewise, it was sought to inform, advise and motivate the active participation of communities farmers, about the need to preserve natural resources and infrastructure, promote user collaboration, in the execution of practices for production and conservation, that allow to increase production and manage natural resources with greater efficiency, that can improve family conditions and raise the standard of rural living. The results indicated that the area presents a risk of moderate current wind erosion (loss of 37 t/ha/year), being the process of greatest aggressiveness in the study area, so that seven communities have more than 80%, of their surface with moderate degree.Followed by water erosion in severe and/or very severe degree, it affects a little more than 500 hectares. These results revealed the need to evaluate and portage the surfaces affected by physical degradation in the north of the state and the introduction of strategies such asFeasibility of the conservation of natural resources. The measures carried out were attended by 500 producers in a total of 20,000 hectares. |
