description The teaching of history in contemporary societies becomes one of the most educational system tools to train students in democratic values ​​that promote their correct participation as future citizens. Historical narratives must be able, and thus the challenge is transmitted to the teachers of history, to promote among students a critical thinking that allows them to understand the information that comes to them through social networks and the means of decommunication, compare them, filter them and establish themits degree of validity or credibility.In this sense, the work with the historical sources, the documents, the images or the heritage is essential in the history classes that must focus their effort on which it is the alumnado himself who, through the investigation, builds his own knowledge based on themost relevant scientific information. In this way, the role of the Setransforma teachers in the necessary guide that helps students to generate a reliable and scientific history from the evidence that has left us the passage of time. This new approach to the teaching of history, requires a structural reform of Lamateria, both at the level of resources and at the level of methodological strategies.Learning history based on socially relevant problems will help students to accompany that the facts of the past have occurred due to causes and will have some consequences in the future. For this reason, it is important that the teaching of Lescapacite history to detect false information at a historical moment in which they abound, through digital media, post -truth and 'fake news' that distort reality to Swiss to create currents ofopinion that do not conform to scientific evidences. "Controversial issues in the classroom. Teaching history in the era of post -truth ”is a work that has its efforts on relevant issues in the current teaching of history: teaching history to fight lies and post -truth;generate proper historical awareness in students; Use heritage as an element generating an interesting identity, and not exclusive, in today's society and, finally, bringing the teaching of the history to narratives and issues that have become ‘invisible’ by having a controversial character.
