| Summary: | National and regional strategies for intelligent specialization in research and innovation, RIS3 strategies (Research and Innovation Smart Specialisation Strategy), are based on the fact that the specialization in certain industries is more beneficial for a territory than indiscriminate diversification in multiple sectors.Under these premises, RIS3MUR was configured in the region of Murcia as an integrative agenda of territorial economic transformation. From the Chair of Innovation for the Smart Specialization of the University of Murcia, funded by the Institute of Development (INFO) of the Region of Murcia, the situation of one of the most relevant specialization areas for the Region of Murcia has been analyzed:The agri -food sector. In this report an analysis of this sector is carried out and different aspects are addressed, such as the weight of this sector in the regional economy and the economic-financial situation of the companies that make up this sector. In addition, the results of a sample study are exposed that highlight the importance of the commitment to innovation when designing business strategies that are successful in that sector. The information collected in this document can help to monitor and control this area of intelligent specialization, at the same time as a guide for the establishment of policies that increase the potential of the sector and, therefore, favor regional development. |
