description The basic veterinary histology atlas was born as a simple didactic resource to help remember the students of veterinary special pathological anatomy, a subject that in the current curriculum of the Veterinary School of the University of Murcia is in the third year. But at the request of Professor Bernabé-Salazar, the Atlas project became broader and freely accessible. A young person, Professor Párraga-Ros, joined the project, thinking about the future with the intention of perpetuating the introduction of new images to the iconographic catalog of the basic veterinary histology atlas. The basic veterinary histology atlas is divided into 20 chapters, which treat the three sections of histology: cytology, histology itself and special histology or microscopic organography. Cytology is housed in chapter one, generalities, and develops in 10 pages. This same chapter makes the four basic fabrics (one page) a quick look and the formation of the organs (six pages) as a preamble to the following pages.Six chapters deal with tissues: epithelial (chapter 2), connectives (chapter 3, 4 and 5), muscle (chapter 6) and nervous, which includes the nervous system (chapter 7). Special histology or microscopic organography is shown in 13 chapters, starting with the cardio-circulatory system (chapter 8), hematopoietic and lymphoid system (chapter 9), skin and its annexes (chapter 10), endocrine system (chapter 11), Respiratory system (chapter 12), digestive system (chapters 13, 14, 15 and 16-liver and pancreas-), urinary apparatus (chapter 17), genital apparatus of the female (chapter 18), genital apparatus of the male (chapter 19)and chapter 20 dedicated to the eye and ear. We wanted to use the routine, fixing techniques -10% formol -, processed in paraffin and staining -hematoxylin and eosins and trichromic of Masson-, so that the preparations were like when it is done daily in the Histology and Pathological Anatomy Laboratoryof the Veterinary Faculty of the University of Murcia. The images have been obtained in a photo-metal with digital camera and, sometimes, with the camera of a mobile phone to obtain a panoramic photograph. Also, they have improved with an image processor. We have used the Apaisada page format because the computer has the rectangular screen and in this way, we also give prominence to the image, in detail. The text has become almost telegraph, in many occasions there is no verb, but it is totally understandable.
