In der Geschichtsschreibung hinsichtlich der Habsburgermonarchie genießt die erste Hälfte des 19. Jahrhunderts vergleichsweise weniger Aufmerksamkeit als die vorhergehende Reformphase von Maria Theresia bis Leopold II. oder die lange Herrschaft Franz Josephs inklusive des Ersten Weltkriegs.
