Beskrivelse
Summary:The personal ensemble acquired by Korpora from Johannes Nuytinck, who ended his career as Staff Adjudant of the National Police (1918-1991), serves as the basis for this article. Nuytinck’s uniformed career spanned from 1938 to his mandatory retirement in 1978. During these forty years, he wore four different uniforms from the Motor Service Corps, the Police Troops Corps, the Royal Military Constabulary, and the National Police Corps; this period was also marked by significant changes in the police system. In this contribution, the dry data from Nuytinck’s file is placed against the backgrounds in which they occurred. His career reflects the main currents of the police system during the Interwar period, World War II, and the Cold War.
