| Crynodeb: | This volume includes the proceedings of the conference “Philology, History and Geography: issues and perspectives” ( October 25 and 26, 2023) held at the University of Urbino Carlo Bo and promoted by the FilPol Research Center “Filology, Politics, History, Society,” established by the universities of Catania, Cagliari, Turin, and Urbino and directed by Stefano Rapisarda. The communications by Giuseppina Brunetti, Filippo Costantini, Paolo Maninchedda, Giuseppe Noto and Stefano Rapisarda were joined by contributions by Alvise Andreose and Antonella Negri, by Antonella Emina and Paolo Rondinelli, who with the previous essays have in common the goal of making philological sciences and collateral disciplines interact, giving rise to an idea of philology that is not limited to its role as Textkritik, but that stands as a hermeneutic device in the broadest possible sense.
In the desire to pursue new avenues of inquiry by making philology, historical dimensions, geographical frontiers and different cultural contexts interact, this volume gives form and substance to a reflection on the role of Romance philology in European and global history and culture within today's socio-political framework. |
