One way to protect our environment and ecosystems is to prevent invasive species from entering our territories, as they transform habitats and endanger the lives of our wildlife and, sometimes, human health. An example of this is the case of the Giant African Snail (Achatina fulica), which was introduced into Colombia via various border routes and ports, with the idea that it could be exploited in cosmetics, gastronomy, commercial interests, or simply out of curiosity. |
