| Riassunto: | The purpose of this work is to present the socioeconomic and environmental characterization of the community of the Nasa Kiwe council of the District of Buenaventura. For its realization, a bibliographic review was carried out in databases and then a documentary analysis was made. Subsequently, meetings were held with indigenous leaders and later members of the community were interviewed. The results show that the indigenous worldview is related to conservation, which is why actions are necessary to prevent deterioration, such as their initiative to self -declare a protected area in their territory. The community has an agricultural vocation, however, it faces problems in production due to the low fertility of the land, which is prospering its economy strongly, and has led many of its young people to leave the territory to seek employment. The community has adopted prior consultation processes for projects th at could affect its territory, such as the construction of the dual carriageway to Buenaventura and the project for the construction of a medium voltage line between the Calima dam and the city of Buenaventura. In conclusion, the Nasa Kiwe indigenous have a high spirit of conservation thanks to their worldview, but they require the institutional support of the State to improve their living conditions and agricultural production to guarantee the lack of culture and their food sovereignty. |
