| Sumari: | The Italian Archaeological School of Carthage. Documentation, Training and Research (SAIC) is a non-profit scientific society, which aims to foster coordination between Italian archaeological cooperation initiatives in the Mediterranean area, to support training, research and knowledge transmission opportunities, contributing to intercultural dialogue and development policies in Tunisia and more generally in Maghreb countries.
Established in February 2016, SAIC proposes itself as the voice of the Italian scientific community interested in ancient Mediterranean civilisations, with regard to historical, archaeological and antiquity sciences, art history, conservation, valorisation and restoration of Cultural Heritage. SAIC acts in agreement with the local institutions concerned, the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Italian Cultural Institute and the Italian Embassy in Tunis, and then with other academic and scientific associations, foundations, regional, national and international institutions, both for cooperation and for support and patronage.
This monograph retraces the first nine years of activity, under the presidency of Attilio Mastino; it presents the methods, protagonists and benefactors that made it possible to achieve the objectives set. |
