description This entry gives a thorough overview of the concept of energy demand, including its forms and the different consumer groups associated with it. It outlines the theoretical underpinnings of how energy demand is shaped, and discusses the significance and justification for modeling energy demand. Clarification of fundamental modeling concepts is provided, with an emphasis on the two crucial aspects of the energy demand modeling process: energy demand forecasting and projection. Along with an investigation of the key factors influencing energy consumption, theoretical and mathematical frameworks are also examined. The chapter provides an overview of the many technical components of energy demand modeling as well as the main domains in which demand models are applied and their results are produced. The most current trending issues in the literature on energy demand modeling are also covered.
