The big question is: what role does the sci-fi film play in this? Is it an imitative companion of a rapidly developing, real techno-utopia that has long since been left behind? Lucas Curstädt counters this in his study: Starting from the thesis that the relationship of dependence is an inverse one, since the technology laboratory remains dependent on the cinema laboratory in terms of the history of ideas, aesthetics and epistemology, he sets out from an ideology-critical perspective how Hollywood in the 21st century positions itself in its films in relation to Silicon Valley. |
