place. The selection is supplemented by some of the most recent documents. The publication
is preceded by an extensive introduction, which presents the essence of the doctrinal texts
and the ongoing paradigm shift in historic preservation.
Conservation theory is formulated in the form of doctrinal texts. Doctrinal texts are short
documents (several pages) enacted by various international bodies – organizations, institutions,
conferences. The texts concern the principles and methods of conservation treatment
of particular typological groups of monuments, in particular regions, or normalize important
conservation activities.
Doctrinal texts play a very important role because they normalize actions at monuments. Due
to the specialization and fragmentation of heritage protection, hundreds of documents have
been created and are still being created. Therefore, it is necessary to select texts and precede
them with an appropriate commentary.
The publication will be useful for all students involved in activities at historic sites. |

Są to dokumenty przedstawiające transformację doktryny konserwatorskiej na przestrzeni około 100 lat. Dokumenty dotyczą kluczowych zagadnień w konserwacji zabytków, a jednocześnie ilustrują zachodzącą obecnie tzw. zmianę paradygmatu. Wybór został uzupełniony o kilka najnowszych dokumentów. Publikację poprzedzono obszernym wprowadzeniem, które prezentuje istotę tekstów doktrynalnych oraz zachodzącej zmiany paradygmatu konserwacji zabytków. Teoria konserwatorska jest formułowana w postaci tekstów doktrynalnych. Teksty doktrynalne to krótkie dokumenty (kilka–kilkanaście stron) uchwalane przez różne gremia międzynarodowe – organizacje, instytucje, konferencje. Teksty dotyczą zasad i metod postępowania konserwatorskiego z poszczególnymi grupami typologicznymi zabytków, w poszczególnych regionach lub normują istotne działania konserwatorskie.
