Riassunto:Faced with the challenges of competitiveness, price formation and value sharing, contractualisation is the subject of recurrent debate. This book provides an in-depth analysis of the uses and impacts of contracts for trading goods in the agricultural, forestry or fishery sectors in France. It aims to shed light on a major issue: why do value chain operators use different ways for trading goods in a market economy? For even market, being auction or over-the-counter markets, trade is based on a variety of more or less formal contractual arrangements, which help to regulate production and manage the risks specific to these sectors. The first stage marketing of agricultural, forestry or fishery goods is based on a complex web of contractual relationships that bind operators with various degrees in value chains. These contracts evolve with practices, economic expectations and societal concerns, in a legal and cultural environment that is constantly changing. They reflect multiple rationales, interweaving economic aims, public regulations and social dynamics. This book combines insights from the fields of law, economics and social sciences to provide a comprehensive understanding of the contractualisation process. A range of analytical approaches and case studies are employed to provide a thorough overview of the realities of contractualisation in the French agricultural, forestry and fisheries sectors. This book is intended for a wide range of readers, including students, teachers, researchers, producers, professional organisations, industry, trade unions, legislators and public policy makers.
