Descripció
Sumari:This volume brings together eight selected contributions originating from three scholarly symposia organised by the French research association Groupe d’études et de recherches en allemand de spécialité (GERALS): La néologie en allemand de spécialité (University of Strasbourg, 2013); Les corpus et l’allemand de spécialité (University of Le Havre, 2014); and L’allemand de spécialité à l’ère numérique (University of Franche-Comté, Montbéliard, 2015). Reflecting the thematic scope of these events, the five French and three German contributions address a range of issues relevant to the study of German for Specific Purposes. Topics include the pioneering work of Johann Beckmann in the field of terminology, the development of a trilingual database of neologisms in specialised discourse, the influence of Anglicisms in technical and professional language, and the application of corpus-based research methods, both quantitative and qualitative. The volume also examines the evolution of specialised German in the digital age, offering critical insights into current methodological and conceptual developments. By drawing on diverse linguistic and cultural perspectives, this collection contributes to ongoing debates in terminology studies, corpus linguistics, and digital language practices, and will be of interest to scholars working in German linguistics, specialised communication, lexicography, and applied linguistics.
