| Özet: | Pedro González Sevillano, is one of the most distinguished academics from Santiago de Chile whose research on Afro-descendence has impacted the scenarios of the Valle del Cauca region and other parts of the country. Over the years, Professor Gonzalez has become a reference in the School of Law at USC through the discussion he has raised in his research on history, law and Afro-Colombian identity expressed in the Pacific region. A debate that the author has extended to cases such as that of Bogota and others in which Afro-descendant populations struggle for their subjective constitution in political, legal and social terms.
These discussions, expressed in the author's research throughout his career, are brought together for the first time in this book, which expresses an important way of studying the problem of discrimination, exclusion and marginalization of the Afro-descendant population from a vision that articulates the local-regional with a national scale. This vision responds to an interdisciplinary approach between history, law and social sciences. In this sense, the work that the reader has in his hands was actually initiated by this professor more than 25 years ago. |
