Shrnutí:In the face of increasing environmental degradation; new concepts are being sought for how society deals with nature. One of these is ecological proportionality. It means that when individuals and companies plan environmentally harmful projects; they consider less intrusive alternatives and weigh them against their goals. The book shows that it can already be found in reality as well as in law; but often only in excerpts that develop into a new social model and legal principle. The components of the principle are reconstructed in a general part from a sociological and legal doctrine perspective. In a special part; they are sought and evaluated in industrial plant; infrastructure; water; nature conservation; product and energy law.
