description Aesopian Subjects in Russian Popular Prints. The article analyses 18th century Russian popular prints that depict Aesopian motifs; the information on the textual and iconographic sources of the prints is summarized and clarified. The following motifs are considered: Why the Mother Taught Her Son Badly, The Fox and the Crane, The Fox and the Dolls, The Fox and the Grapes, The Old Man and Death; another topic is the iconography of the chapbook The Life of Aesop. For the first time, the print The Gnat and the Lion (which was not included in D.A.
