| Sumari: | This anthology explores the intersection between gender, health and marginalization. In recent years, there has been increasing research interest in the connection between gender and health. However, in the Norwegian context, little research has been done on how gender and health are intertwined with cultural and social processes that lead to marginalization and ultimately gender-based inequality in health. On this background, this book provides new insight into topics such as cervical screening, cancer rehabilitation, abortion, substance abuse, domestic violence, chronic illness and dementia care.
The chapters provide nuanced knowledge that can be used to develop better and more gender-sensitive health services where necessary. This can lead to better health and less marginalization for everyone, irrespective of gender. This knowledge can also be important for students in health and social science education. The book is also intended as inspiration for those pursuing master's theses, doctoral dissertations and other research studies, as well as a resource for teachers and practice supervisors within higher education in health and social sciences. |
