Descripció
Sumari:In vitro plant cultures and somatic embryogenesis are the focus of this Special Issue. Scientists worldwide are developing and improving plant propagation and regeneration methods in in vitro cultures. Micropropagation is used on a large scale to produce high-quality cuttings of ornamental plants and, to a lesser extent, vegetable or agricultural plants. In addition, the technique is used in gene banks or for the production of important secondary metabolites. The most efficient plant regeneration methods include somatic embryogenesis (SE). As a result of SE, somatic embryos can potentially be produced from any living somatic cell.
