In this book, the lives of the two women are explored from various perspectives, and they are commemorated together. Die taubblinde Dichterin Irene Ransburg (1898–1944) und die blinde Germanistikstudentin Gisela Kaufmann (1907–1941) waren zwei Frauen im Graz der Zwischenkriegszeit, die allen Widerständen zum Trotz ihren bemerkenswerten Weg gingen. Ihre Biografien verbindet neben der Liebe für Literatur und Sprache das gemeinsame Schicksal der Verfolgung im Nationalsozialismus. Nach langem Vergessen wurden ihre Geschichten in den letzten Jahren Teil des öffentlichen Gedenkens in der Stadt Graz.
