Riassunto:This technical document is the third in a series of publications that focus on the use and evaluation of medicines and health technologies from a multidisciplinary perspective, using tools provided by health economics in general and pharmacoeconomics in particular, always taking into account the health outcomes obtained in various diseases that are primarily chronic or have a significant impact on the health of the population. The result of this collaboration is this third Technical Report, which concisely and clearly addresses the challenges we face due to the implementation and management of vaccination programs in immunocompromised patients. Along with social, economic, demographic, health, and epidemiological improvements, medicines (and therefore vaccines) are undoubtedly one of the innovations that have contributed most to the well-being of society throughout our recent history, helping to substantially improve people's life expectancy, health status, and quality of life. Our desire and objective in producing this document is to provide a new approach to the evaluation of medicines and health technologies based more on the value (social value generated) than on the cost (economic cost incurred), which in this case should be understood as an investment in a public good.
